A + 7 : Methoni - The Eyes of Venice

Arriving in Methoni today where we change crew. Methoni and Koroni, a bit further to the East, were called the eyes of Venice. These two were its most important trading hubs in Greece. It was Venetian since 1207 and taken by the Ottoman Empire in 1500.

The old Harbour is still visible under Water - the Carpe Diem V in the background - Venetian Merchant Sailing Ships were about as big as our Boat - 30 meters
