A + 12 : A Break in Koufonisi

hbanziger

After an uneventful night in Milos, we sailed early morning to the island of Koufonisi which is wind protected by the mountains of Naxos, the bigger island to the North.

We craved for a quiet and peaceful day after the rocky crossing from Monemvassia to Milos yesterday and found a good bay on the southern side of Koufonisi

There are almost no people living on the 1.7 sq mi island

There are a few sailboats though and a tavern just behind the hill - where the sailboats anchor

This specific bay though is full of French and German back packers - it must be written up in some tourist guide book!

We loved the break since we knew that the following day we had to face the Meltemi again to cross over to Turkey
